Female Sexual Dysfunction

O-shot, PRP, platelet rich plasma, PRP, sexual dysfunction, painful sex, orgasm, lubrication

Sexual dysfunction,  low libido and/or difficulty reaching climax can stem from various causes including hormones, vascular, and neurogenic etiologies.  It starts with a detailed understanding of your symptoms and concerns and a comprehensive lab panel.   Once the cause is better understood then a treatment plant can be tailored to fit your personal needs.

Treatment options can include

  • Hormone replacement therapy
  • Peptide therapy such as PT-141
  • Oxytocin to improve sexual desire and orgasm
  • V-Shot (PRP injections designed stimulate repair of damaged tissues)
  • V-Wave

Female Sexual Arousal Disorder (usually but not always accompanies Sexual Desire Disorder). Women who suffer with this may want to have sex but have much difficulty finding the pleasure of arousal. The 5% incidence doesn’t sound like much until you think about it–that’s the same as one in 20!

Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder (Low desire). Remember, that this is not counted a disorder unless it’s disrupting the woman’s life. Around 10% of women suffer with this problem. Important: Suffering with a sexual disorder does not simply make sex not fun. Better sex leads to more energy, more creativity, increased confidence, less depression, and improved overall health.

Female Orgasmic Disorder: Again around 1 in 20 (or 5%). Here women can become aroused but have much difficulty with orgasm. This can be so frustrating that sex becomes a frustration that they avoid.

Dyspareunia: Here the woman suffers with real pain with sex (not from decreased lubrication or vaginal spasm). The incidence is from around 1 in 10 to 1 in 5 women. (The above shocking statistics came from Obstetrics & Gynecology April 2011)

V-Shot

The V-Shot treatment uses PRP (platelet-rich plasma) harnessed from the patient’s blood. The platelets are injected into the clitoris and upper vagina. The growth factors in PRP are alleged to help regenerate tissue and improve sexual function, arousal, lubrication, and orgasm.

The procedure is relatively painless and involves numbing of the vagina including the oh-so-very sensitive clitoris, followed by injection of PRP into the Corpus Cavernosum. Orgasm injections are less expensive and they will not be as painful as the vaginal rejuvenation treatments.

Hyaluronic acid fillers are used on occasion to assist with length. This procedure can be predicated by and followed by using V-Wave for optimal results.

The V-Shot can be combined with the V-Wave for potentially improved results when compared to the treatments being performed alone.

Treatment process:

  • A numbing cream is applied to the the clitoris and superior vaginal vault
  • Blood is drawn from your arm (just like when you have a blood test done).
  • The blood is put in a centrifuge and undergoes a double spin technique and the cellular structure are separated from the plasma and platelets producing Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)
  • The PRP is then transferred into a syringe and injected into the the clitoris and superior aspect of the vaginal vault (pelvic floor) using a tiny needle and in a way that distributes the growth factors in the proper way.

Potential Benefits

  • Decrease in painful intercourse
  • Improved lubrication
  • Improved tightness
  • Better orgasms
  • Can last some 12-18 months

V-Wave

V-Wave is based on scientifically proven extracorporeal shockwave therapy that uses high frequency acoustical waves to assist with soft tissue remodeling. It can provides a breakthrough solution for men seeking better erections and optimal sexual performance. It is completely drug-free, pain-free and surgery free.

Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy has been commercially available for years and marketed under names such as GAINSWave and FEMIWave, that uses high frequency acoustical wave therapy that, when applied to the male or female genitals, breaks up the micro-plaque in existing blood vessels and stimulates the growth of new blood vessels.  In addition it causes a micro-inflammatory response.  Inflammation is a signal to the body to promote healing.

These same shockwaves also have the ability to “wake-up” dormant stem cells in the penis, which can lead to improved erectile function and enhanced tissue growth.

This healing can lead to improved circulation and nerve repair resulting in a potential decrease in female sexual dysfunction including better erections and orgasms.

The V-Wave can be combined with the V-Shot  for potentially improved results when compared to the treatments being performed alone.
